چکیده

Face recognition is the biometric identification by scanning a person's face and matching it against a library of known faces. The Issues in Face recognition include image degradation due to blur and variations in appearance due to illumination. Blur refers to the less sharpness or unclearness in images whereas Illumination refers to the placement of light sources in images. Our approach deals with SVM classifier which is used to increase the system performance. It scales large datasets and is also robust to blur and illumination changes in the image. Accuracy of image recognition is also high.

A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF WAVELET-BASED FEMG SIGNAL DENOISING WITH THRESHOLD FUNCTIONS AND FACIAL EXPRESSION CLASSIFICATION USING SVM AND LSSVM

This work presents a technique for the analysis of Facial Electromyogram signal activities to classify five different facial expressions for Computer-Muscle Interfacing applications. Facial Electromyogram (FEMG) is a technique for recording the asynchronous activation of neuronal inside the face muscles with non-invasive electrodes. FEMG pattern recognition is a difficult task for the researche...

Face Recognition using Eigenfaces , PCA and Supprot Vector Machines

This paper is based on a combination of the principal component analysis (PCA), eigenface and support vector machines. Using N-fold method and with respect to the value of N, any person’s face images are divided into two sections. As a result, vectors of training features and test features are obtain ed. Classification precision and accuracy was examined with three different types of kernel and...

Automatic Face Recognition via Local Directional Patterns

Automatic facial recognition has many potential applications in different areas of humancomputer interaction. However, they are not yet fully realized due to the lack of an effectivefacial feature descriptor. In this paper, we present a new appearance based feature descriptor, the local directional pattern (LDP), to represent facial geometry and analyze its performance inrecognition. An LDP feat...

Pose Invariant Face Recognition using Hybrid DWT-DCT Frequency Features with Support Vector Machines

Face recognition is a challenging problem and up to date, there is no technique that provides a robust solution to all situations. This paper presents a hybrid approach to pose invariant human face recognition. The proposed scheme is based on a combination of the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) analysis on face images. The DWT-DCT domain coefficients are use...

Unconstrained Face Recognition From Blurred and Illumination with Pose Variant Face Image Using SVM

Face recognition has been an intensely researched field of computer vision for the past couple of decades. Motivated by the problem of remote face recognition, this paper has addressed the problem of recognizing blurred and poorly illuminated faces. This paper has shown that the set of all images obtained by blurring a given image is a convex set given by the convex hull of shifted versions of ...
